Latest popular katakana-English phrase which cracks me up:
ノーハウ (noohau) or ノウハウ (nouhau) = know-how

Absolute nonsense. It's in all the self-help type commercials, but of course not knowing the etymology its use is already starting to skew in weird directions....



Also, my senior high girls cracked me up today by asking me which holiday was more fun: Easter or Halloween?

So my 3 year old. He apparently loves the song Single Ladies by Beyonce. Little did I know how much he loves that song. I was simply making a point that he, in fact, is not a single lady. I thought he would laugh and keep singing. [...]
