Looks like there's definite interest! Awesome!

Okay, time for the nitty-gritty. I have no problems organizing, but like I said before, if someone else would like to lead discussion, I think that would be better.

So, if I could get from everyone interested:

- Times and days you'd prefer (and what time zone you're in).
- Version preference? We seem to have two or three votes for Tyler's unabridged right now.
- How many pages you think you'd be up to in a week. I'm at work, so I can't check right now, but I seem to remember that individual chapters are very short.

Um... Anything else I'm forgetting. Oh! Chatting vehicle of preference. Text? Audio? Video? We'll have to keep it to the lowest denominator so that everyone can join.

And feel free to spread the word. I'm keeping these entries unlocked so anyone can see them.

1. My schedule is very flexible. But I hope no one is seriously suggesting we'll engage in intellectual discussion first thing in the morning.

2. Tyler! Tyler! Tyler!

3. Some of the chapters are quite short, some are really rather long. I read quickly so I'm up for as many pages a week as the rest of you can stand. Maybe we should look at it from the point of view of getting through the entire book in a certain period of time... otherwise I suspect it may be apt to drag on forever.

4. I like text best. Or maybe audio, if Jen coerces me.

Oh, I want to. ^_^
- Any day for me is okay. For times... er. I get home at 5pm MWF and 2pm TTh; in general I tutor 9-11 on Sunday-Wednesday (CST). If this sounds way too complicated/troublesome/doesn't match with anyone just ignore me and I should be able to find time. ^_^;
- No version preference.
- I can probably do 100 to 200 pages a week.
- I prefer text chatting but if everyone else has another preference I don't mind.
Do you want me to help lead discussion? *says annoying English major*

1. Any day is fine, really. I usually get home from work around 7pm EST and often stay up late. Weekends are completely free.

2. Vote for Tyler!

3. Hmmm.... I honestly don't know, but 100 - 200 pages is feasible. I think working by chapters is probably easier though.

4. I prefer text chatting, but will honestly go along with what everyone else wants to do

I'm not much of a leader *says the English major who despised the other English majors :P*

I think that's a great idea... I'm not sure I'm literate enough and/or have the time to keep up, though. The last time I've discussed a book was 10 years ago :P I might just sit there and listen to what everyone else is saying. ^^

And it may take me a week or two to get a copy. Of Tyler, which I have decided a while ago will be the copy I'm getting if I ever get one.

And I'd prefer text. No preferences regarding time. Number of pages... depends on the print. :P

PS: Text might have the [dis?]advantage of being easily "recordable". But if someone misses a discussion they could read the transscript, maybe in a locked post or something like that...

- Hmmm. These are all in the central time zone.

Mondays and Tuesdays: after 5:00

Wednesdays and Fridays: after 7:00, but Wednesday's not the best day for me.

Thursdays: after 9:00

Saturdays: any time

Sundays: not between 6:30 and 9:30.

I apologize for my tight schedule. :( If it's too cumbersome, I can probably fit any time in or simply drop out.

- Tyler.

- Ack! I'm rather busy, but I could handle probably a hundred pages a week.

- Text, but I'm very curious to hear others' voices and/or see them, so, if I can find the proper technology, maybe one audio/visual session. ;)

Okay count me in, ^_^!

1. Anytime is fine with me(weekends are okay too if I am not extremely busy with plans of course, ;)

2. I'm with everyone for Tylers unabridged but like Kya, it would take me a week or two as well for me to get a copy, ;)!

3. I read rather quickly so I might be done with probably more than 100-200 if possible.

4. Oh text please, ;)!

(PS, I love this LJ Hook extension for Firefox, it just randomly selected the Genji icon I needed for this topic, coincidence).

1)My work schedule is not fixed in the least bit, so I guess I'd probably end up missing one or two times if you guys decide on a fixed time. Though Sunday nights are possibly the absolute best for me.

2) Any version as long as its unabridged is fine with me.

3) I read very quickly so 100-200 is possible, but I think it would be easier to do it by chapter.

4) Any of them are fine with me :)
